With a super active toddler who would trade his much needed naps and bed time with running in the playground and jumping right into the action of water play with fountains, we find ourselves constantly on the lookout for ideas to keep him occupied. We are trying to train him to play independently over an extended period of time instead of always demanding that one of us (or worse, both of us) sitting by his side while he plays.
As much as we do enjoy bonding time with him, we also need our own time to complete our work and chores at home. Here are some of the activities he enjoys and indulge in at home, while we sneak some time for ourselves:
Enjoys mimicking his dad cleaning the house, he grabs at every chance to do so. |
He sometimes doesn't know the right time for this, and pulls this out in the middle of the night or early mornings. |
Getting better at this, he can build this all by himself. Great training for his imagination and creativity. |
Piecing jigsaw puzzles! He needs more guidance and gets easily frustrated so we need to do this with him. |
Zooming around the house, cutting corners and getting through narrow spaces on his Ybike, is his forte. |
Surfing the net (just kidding!) |
